Le Michigan c’est aussi le célèbre studio de la Motown, dans ce petit pavillon de West Grand Boulevard Berry Gordy a créé en 1959, avec un pécule de 800 dollars, le label indépendant Motown qui devint le plus important du monde en 1970. Le Michigan c’est aussi les céréales Kelloggs , Les fabriquants de mobilier métallique de bureaux Herman Miller et Steelcase .Enfin le Michigan sur le coté Ouest ,sur plusieurs centaines de kilomètres, c’est de longues plages de sable fin, entourées de cottages en bois colorés envahis tout les week ends d’été , par les riches habitants de l’Est de l’Etat, Nous vous conseillons la petite ville de Grand Haven à 30 minutes de l’aéroport de Grand Rapid ,nous avons rencontré dans cette petite ville des Français qui avait loué un cottage avec une vue superbe sur le lac, www.vrbo.com/144495 , le restaurant à visiter est le Kirby Grill en fait un batiment de deux étages traditionnel en briques rouges , très ouvert sur l’extérieur, avec différents styles de cuisine, de la pizza aux viandes élaborées .

Detroit auto show: editors give honors to Audi, Ford, Mini, Volkswagen
The Audi E-tron, the Ford Focus, the Mini Beachcomber and VW’s New Compact Coupe are the winners of the AutoWeek Editors’ Choice awards for the 2010 Detroit auto show.
After two days of walking the displays at Detroit’s Cobo Center, the Auto journalists hashed out what we consider the best vehicles for four categories: Best in Show, Most Significant, Most Fun and Best Concept.
The winners are:
Best in Show: Audi E-tron
« This was almost a unanimous decision, « This is a concept, yes, but we loved the car’s size and proportions. We are looking for versions of this car to come in the future in the form of a small, sporty two-seater from Audi. And that is something we really look forward to driving. »
The E-Tron « has the potential to be the fastest and most beautiful production EV the world has ever seen. »
Most Significant: Ford Focus, Ford achieved global success this year !
This car gives Ford and Focus fans their car back. By that we mean enthusiasts have been crying for the European Focus for years. It will be on sale in 2011, powered by a sporty four-cylinder engine mated to a DSG transmission

Le retour des constructeurs Américains!
Les Etats unis se sont lancés dans une restructuration en profondeur, et cela semble porter déja ces fruits.
En 2009, Derrière la Chine et ses 13 millions d’unités vendues, le marché Américain a du atteindre les 10 millions d’unités, loin des 17 millions de 2008.(Objectif 2015/2016)
Si nous regardons la situation des constructeurs locaux :
Ford semble s’en sortir très bien, après la fermeture de 16 usines en 4 ans , la reduction d’un tiers des effectifs, et la concentration sur la marque Ford. En Europe Ford afermé son usine Polonaise , et a ouvert trois usines en Russie, Turquie et Roumanie.
GM: a quant à lui fermé 14 sites, et réduit l’effectif de 20%, le réseau de concessionnaires à été réduit de 40%, GM va se concentrer sur quatre marques , Chevrolet, Cadillac , Buick et GMC.
Dix modèles hybrides vont être lançées, dont la Volt Hybride très avancée.
En Europe GM diminue ses effectifs de 20% soit 10 000 emplois,
Seul Chrysler détenue à 20% par Fiat, continue de s’effondrer pour le moment, les effectifs devraient baissés de 23 000 salariés, La Fiat 500 devrait être construite au Mexique dès 2011, En Europe Chrysler sera distribué sous la marque Lancia . A suivre Mr Sergio Marchionne

What Would Henry Ford say about Michigan’s current economy?
Imagine for a moment if Henry Ford came back from the dead and found himself walking on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit near the stadium that bears his name. As he approaches a traffic light, he sees a newspaper on the sidewalk and quickly reaches down, picks it up and turns his eyes to the front page.
Can you imagine the look on his face? I’m certain he’d look stunned with his jaw wide open at the bold headlines jumping off the page right before his eyes.
I spoke recently at the Livonia Business Expo and threw this question out to the 125 or so lunch attendees, « What would Henry Ford ask us about the state of Michigan’s economy if he were alive today? Would he be disappointed or pleased with what we’ve done? » The answer to this question is pretty easy. I’m confident Ford would be disappointed with what’s happened to the automotive industry but more importantly what’s happened to our mindset and attitude.
I issued a challenge to the audience that I’d like to share with you. I’ll warn you in advance, some of you may not like it, but please bring an open mind. I stated that we must bail ourselves out of this current recession. We have to stop waiting for a handout and quit making excuses. We can only turn things around one person at a time. No one else can do it for us. We must work quickly to get our groove back! Excuses and finger pointing must come to an end.
Naysayers will scoff, laugh, and probably discount my statements. That’s fine. I’ll believe them and take them more seriously once they offer up some constructive solutions to help turn around the state of Michigan versus always complaining. If it’s so bad here I often ask myself, why they don’t move somewhere else? It’s amusing to me how easy it is to complain versus taking action. It’s my observation that the great state of Michigan – YES, this is a great place to be – has had too many people in the media and other supposed roles of ‘leadership’ hogging up the headlines with cop outs and excuses and it’s time to turn the tide.
The time is now. If we intend to turn things around we all must step up to the plate and get involved. It won’t be easy. The doubters will throw roadblocks and excuses in the way. Most successful people I know, meet or work with expect, anticipate and know that critics are always placed in the way to test their resolve and passion for accomplishing long-lasting change. Quitters stop early in the journey. Champions keep pushing, despite the odds.
Again, if Henry Ford were alive today I wonder what he’d think of our current economy. Would he sense a willingness on our part to respond, reinvent and retool our industries and resources or would he sadly shake his head in worry? The answer to his question resides in each of us and whether we’ll step up and grow, or retreat into continual complaining and despair. I hope more and more people begin to wake up, and wake up soon to choose the first option
