The genius mathematician Paolo Pelligrini  who launched PSQR fund  after he became known for partnering with John Paulson on his subprime trade

Says in his final letter to investors, that the US government is continuing to dig the hole deeper, Pelligrini is supposed to retire.

Palligrini’s reasons for quitting seem to be that the government has doomed the economy.

Goldman Sachs announced last month an 82 percent profit slide.

D’apres les documents  récents de la S E C, L’assureur Français AXA  a réduit  de près de la moitié sa participation dans La Banque d’Investissement US Goldman Sachs.

Axa qui était le plus gros  actionnaire de Goldman Sachs aurait vendu 14 millions d’actions entre Janvier et juin ramenant  ainsi sa participation de 4.8% à 2.4%.

BlackRock et T  Rowe Price aurait aussi réduit leur participation.

China’s 661 mutual funds managed by 60 fund management firms registered a combined loss of 439.75 billion Yuan ($65 billion) in the first half of the year,.

The losses were the second biggest for China’s mutual funds industry in history after the industry’s record losses of 1.08 trillion Yuan in the same period of 2008.

The loss is mainly due to a weak market: the 261 stocks-oriented funds reported the biggest loss of 296.3 billion Yuan, and 155 funds that make part of their investment in stocks lost 120.5 billion Yuan.

The Shanghai Composite Index, China’s benchmark stock index, fell 27 percent in the first half, becoming one of the worst performers in the global stock market

Druckenmiller began his financial career in 1977 as a management trainee at Pittsburgh National Bank after dropping out of a Ph.D. program at the University of Michigan. He became head of the bank’s equity research group after one year. In 1981 he founded his own firm Duquesne Capital Management.

In 1985, he became a consultant to Dreyfus, splitting his time between Pittsburgh and New York, where he lived two days each week. He moved to Pittsburgh full time in 1986 when he was named head of the Dreyfus Fund. As part of his agreement with Dreyfus, he also maintained management of Duquesne. In 1988, he was hired by George Soros to replace Victor Niederhoffer at Quantum Fund. He and Soros famously « broke the Bank of England » when they shorted British pound sterling in 1992, reputedly making more than $1 billion in profits. He left Soros in 2000 after taking large losses in technology stocks.  

Druckenmiller is married to Fiona Biggs, niece of investor Barton Biggs. Druckenmiller has three daughters.

Stanley  Druckenmiller wrote to his 100 clients recently  that he was  quitting the business after three decades, telling investors he’d been tired  by the challenge of managing an enormous amount of capital was having a clear impact on my ability to perform,

Druckenmiller, 57, said he’s frustrated by his failure in the past three years to match returns that had averaged 30 percent annually since 1986. His Duquesne Capital Management LLC, which oversees $12 billion and has never had a losing year, is down 5 percent in 2010.

Le financier de 57 ans va créer un «family office» afin de gérer un patrimoine personnel estimé par Forbes à 3 milliards de dollars
